A BNP candidate was the Tottenham Court Road siege man. Latest reports named Michael Green, 48, from Stevenage, who was arrested on Friday after the incident, during which parts of central London were evacuated. His alleged offences include possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas or electrical incapacitating device. Green is also accused of false imprisonment, making a bomb hoax, causing criminal damage and recklessly endangering life. This is the curious case of the Blogger, the Digger and the Spymaster.
Paul Delarie-Staines, the blogger who goes under the name ‘Guido Fawkes’ and who now specialises in publicising cross party gossip and media exposes, has a 25 year career in right wing politics, working with spooks and assorted loonies. He worked with David Hart, who set up the scab miners union during the 1984 miner’s strike, and Brian Crozier, ex-MI6, on the Murdoch funded smear bulletin, ‘British Briefing’, which followed on from ‘World Briefing’. Also closely involved with BB was Charles Elwell, former head of MI5′s F Branch.

With some help from Rupert Murdoch, he secretly financed a newsletter, British Briefing, edited by Charles Elwell, a former MI5 officer in charge of “counter-subversion”.’

Media baron Rupert Murdoch was pedalling dirt against the left, Labour, charities etc when he funded a scurrilous dirty tricks paper called British Briefing. This was exposed (by this author) in 1989 and the paper then disappeared. The Leveson Inquiry is not looking that far back, though it should as it will find a history of misdeeds going back to the early Wapping years. In the meantime, a BBC blogger presents his history of Murdoch, minus the British Briefing affair via the link below.
